Sparks won't fly with these coats!

SeaSafe Systems launched a new coat range at the 2008 Seawork exhibition in June. The marine safety clothing range features a new fabric with anti-static properties. Coats made with this material will appeal to anyone that works in hazardous and potentially explosive areas.
The new fabric was specially developed for its anti-static characteristics; combined with the non-sparking nature of the rest of the SeaSafe coat, it means personnel operating where chemical, vapour or flammable materials are present can wear their protective clothing with a much reduced risk of developing a static related spark.
Jeremy Dale, Managing Director of SeaSafe Systems Ltd, comments, "Several SeaSafe customers have been trialling the product over the past few months and the feedback has been so positive that we decided to include the new material as a standard option on our commercial coat range with concealed lifejackets.
"Many of our customers do work on or near to hazardous areas such as gas and petrochemical terminals and of course harbour pilots frequently have to board vessels carrying flammable materials or liquids.
"We had to be certain that in addition to the critical anti-static properties the material had the other essential features we look for such as comfort and durability, and I'm pleased to say the new fabric exceeded our expectations in every respect".
